Mobile games powerhouse Zynga has released Scramble with Friends for the iPhone, the latest in its popular “with Friends” franchise.
Scramble with Friends™ is the fast, fun game of finding words in a jumbled grid. Quickly slide your finger over adjacent letters to form words forwards, backwards, sideways…any way you can!
Players are given a four by four letter grid and the goal is to swipe as many words you can within a 2 minute period. Gameplay is similar to Words with Friends where each player’s turn does not start until the other player finishes their turn. The player with the most points after three 2-minute rounds wins.
To make the game a little more competitive, the point values on the letters increase round by round. The first round letters are given a standpoint value while the second and third rounds allow the player to double or triple the word values depending on the highlighted letters. There are also Power-ups available before each round that allows the player to freeze the clock, get word hints and even scramble your board to get a fresh set of letters.
Going by how popular Zynga’s previous “with Friends” games are, SwF will be yet another distraction in boardrooms across the country.
The game is currently available in the App Store in both a free and a $2.99 version.
